The Cake Crusader was founded by Liz Allan who discovered back in 2001 that she was wheat intolerant and found it very difficult to transition from a life with wheat to one without. At that time, the only places where you could purchase “intolerance friendly” products were health food shops where the products were very expensive.

Over the years, the supermarkets have begun to sell more “Free From” products but nothing has ever tasted as “home made” as the wheat and gluten free cakes Liz now sells at The Cake Crusader.

According to the NHS and various other research bodies, over one third of people in the UK suffer from some form of food intolerance or sensitivity, in fact as our own experience shows some may not even realise that they actually have an intolerance as they just put up with the symptoms of a “funny tummy”.

All our cakes are gluten and wheat free as standard and only contain simple ingredients, Rice Flour, Potato Flour and Tapioca Flour making up the main contents, and there are no additives in our cakes.

The Cake Crusader doesnt just sell gluten free cakes or wheat free cakes, our cakes can also be made for other intolerances. We also offer dairy free cakes, egg free cakes, and sugar free cakes and we will be happy to discuss any specific intolerance or requirements you have.

We are also able to offer party cakes for any occasion, Birthdays (Children or Adult), Engagements, Weddings, Anniversaries, Christenings, Office Functions or any general celebration, etc so don’t hesitate to call and discuss your requirements.

We are proud to announce the on 31st July 2010 Liz Allan was awarded her Master’s Certificate in Sugarpaste, Royal Icing and Sugar Flowers from PME following the completion of The PME Professional Diplomas which are recognised worldwide.
